Standard not met Reason Action being taken by the Pharmacy By when Notification By Pharmacy Improvements Made
3.1

The pharmacy's premises, in their current state, are not adequate for the provision of healthcare services. The dispensary is disorganised and cluttered. It has limited clear space to be able to dispense and check medicines safely. There are items on the dispensary floor which are tripping hazards for team members. All this is impacting the overall efficiency of the dispensing process. And it may increase the risk of dispensing mistakes or accidents.

1. Locum dispensers to be engaged to assist in tidying of shelves
2. Moveable shelving unit to be purchased for prescriptions awaiting final check
3. Fit lock to consultation room door.
4. *Investigate possibility of extending counter to create dispensary shelf space at computer end
5. *Investigate with landlords possibility of siting shed in courtyard to store consumables eg bags, tokens
6. *Investigate possibility of putting locked cupboard in consultation room to store confidential waste/DOOP medicines.
7. *Investigate possibility of creating MDS dispensing area in consultation room
