1.1 | The pharmacy provides a face-to-face prescribing service for weight loss and travel vaccinations. But it cannot show that it has adequately assessed the risks associated with these services. It does not have documented risk assessments showing how it has considered all the potential risks asscociated with its prescribing service and the steps it has taken to mitigate these. This means it cannot demonstrate that it is prescribing medicines safely and effectively. |
The pharmacy will stop the prescribing service for weight loss and travel vaccinations. The pharmacy will now offer weight management, travel vaccines and other minor ailments via patient group directions (PGDs). Relevant training certificates from ELH, CPPE and other providers will be held on files. |

4.2 | The pharmacy cannot demonstrate that it provides its private prescribing services safely and legally. Prescription-only medicines are issued to people in the absence of legally valid prescriptions to support these supplies. The pharmacy does not keep a record showing the supply of these medicines on people's patient medication records. And the pharmacy does not keep records of the supply of these medicines in its private prescription register. |
The pharmacy will provide private services via PGDs going forward. The online platform sends a report directly to the patients GP after a consultation and all prescription-only medicine supplied will be recorded to patient PMR by all pharmacists working in the pharmacy. |
