The pharmacy does not adequately protect people's private information

- The consultation room will be locked to prevent public access whilst out of use.

- When in use, confidential information will not be left visible in the consultation room at any point during opening hours of the pharmacy.

- Process for handling dispensing errors and recording them will be revised and staff members will be trained on how to access and record the required information for root cause analysis and subsequent learnings.

- All appropriate safeguarding contact details will be made accessible to staff and an SOP will be developed. Staff members will be trained on how to use this SOP.

The pharmacy team were not always comfortable about providing feedback and raising concerns about issues that arise in the pharmacy.

- All staff members will be reminded to raise concerns, suggestions and feedback to either their line manager or superintendent pharmacist.

The pharmacy team do not take action in a timely manner when they receive concerns about medicines or medical devices that are not fit for purpose.

- The management team for each branch will ensure that concerns regarding defective medicines/devices are dealt with as soon as possible.

- Pharmacy team will be appropriately trained to ensure that drug alerts are actioned and recorded in a timely manner

The pharmacy team could not ensure that medicines that require cold storage were stored appropriately

- One fridge will be allocated for dispensary use and the other for staff personal use. Staff members will be trained on how to record fridge temperature correctly and what to do in response to temperature excursions. A fridge temperature SOP will be implemented to help facilitate this.
