1.1

There are unmanaged risks that can impact people using pharmacy services associated with the condition of the premises. These include presence of mice and electrical risks.

Electrician will be booked to fix the loose electrical socket in the dispensary. This may not be possible until after the festive period when trades are back working. To be completed Monday 11th of January.
Sonic mouse deterrent currently on order, will be installed in dispensary area as soon as received. Completed 6th of January

Wooden barrier placed behind fridge in dispensary to help seal up any place mice may be entering pharmacy. To be completed by 15th of January

Basement to be sorted and rewired the last week in January, wc 25 Jan 21

The lack of maintenance of the premises and electrical issues means there is a risk to the safe operation of the pharmacy. The pharmacy team members dispense in cramped conditions. And the space the pharmacy stores its medicines in creates an increased risk of error.

The basement will be rewired and sorted, this should block up area’s mice may be entering premises, once basement is rewired sonic mouse deterrents will be used there. w/c/ 25 Jan

The main dispensing bench will be cleared and only used for dispensing and checking. Excess stock will be cleared and run down, creating space to allow items awaiting check and any balances to be stored on designated shelves and not cluttering up limited space on benches. Completed 28 Dec

MDS dispensing area to have extra lighting to ensure area is not gloomy. Completed 28 Dec.

The dispensary will have a refit to eliminate the cramped conditions within six months, so before mid July 2021.

The pharmacy does not have adequate hygiene measures in place due to an ongoing mouse presence and dirty carpeting
