Village Pharmacy (1042434) - Improvement action plan

Out of date medicines are present in stock as there is no effective arrangement in place for removal of all expired medicines. And stock medicines are not always appropriately packaged or labelled.

1. Remove all medicines from shelves that are not in OP’s & dispose into yellow bin.
2. Update SOP to reflect current practice and specifically to include WHEN identified short dated stock is to be removed i.e at the beginning of the expiring month
3. Create a table in the SOP showing sections of the pharmacy and whom responsibility has been assigned to.
4. All staff to sign updated SOP
5. Enter topic onto agenda for next staff training event (tbc ~ Aug 19)
