The pharmacy cannot provide assurance that its SOPs are fit for purpose. Members of the team have not read the SOPs and do not properly understand their responsibilities.

All of the SOPS are being updated as electronic versions and all staff are in the process of reading and signing off SOPS.

Members of the team cannot demonstrate they fully understand their responsibilities, such as what they can or cannot do in the absence of a pharmacist.

As staff are signing off SOPS and are as such being made aware of their responsibilities and limitations.

The pharmacy’s responsible pharmacist record is inaccurate and unreliable.

Gone back to paper based records and stopped using PMR records.

The pharmacy is cluttered and untidy, which impedes the safe and effective provision of services.

All boxes have been removed from retail and dispensary area. Medicines returns have been dealt with. Shelves tidied.

A fridge is in use which is significantly damaged and not fit for purpose.

A new bigger 300L fridge has been ordered. Stock from both smaller fridges will be transferred to the new fridge. Broken fridge will be disposed of.
