4.3

The pharmacy does not have an adequate date-checking routine and it does not always keep medicines in containers which are properly labelled. This may increase the risk that date checks or product recalls are not dealt with effectively. And could increase the risk of people getting medicine which is past its 'use-by date'. The pharmacy does not store medicines which need cold storage properly. And this increases the risk that these medicines are not safe for people to use.

All staff to read and sign OSOP01-cold storage
All staff to read and sign OSOP06-Date checking. Have started date checking on matrix provided in operations folder. Date checking of whole dispensary has been done and will be done every 3 months .Highlight products in dispensary that are going out of date in next 3 months-use red dots or highlighter-have a way of identifying this product quickly and easily. These items identified when date checking and cleaning. On the 1st of every month, go around and remove all products highlighted or red dot as going out of date that month. Fridge has been bought with accurate temperature.
