Allied Pharmacy Fratton Road (1031794) - Improvement action plan

Standard not met Reason Action being taken by the Pharmacy By when Notification By Pharmacy Improvements Made
1.6

The pharmacy does not maintain adequate records to show how it provides its services safely. Its private prescription records do not comply with the law, as the majority of those seen do not show who the prescriber was. This makes it much harder to follow up any queries that may arise. Additionally, the pharmacy is not retaining appropriate records when it supplies unlicensed medicines. Other records such as the responsible pharmacist record, emergency supply records, and some page headers in the controlled drugs register, were also incomplete.

A team meeting will be held outside of
opening hours and training given to the staff on the importance of accurate record keeping.
The pharmacy will ensure that all private prescriptions are recorded correctly, including the private prescriber’s details.
The staff will always ensure that the medicine name is written on each page header of the CD register.
The staff will ensure that supplies
of unlicensed medicines are recorded in a folder for that purpose.
The pharmacy team will ensure the RP record is completed and all pharmacists will sign in as RP and sign out every day
