Brookfield Pharmacy (1031549) - Improvement action plan

Standard not met Reason Action being taken by the Pharmacy By when Notification By Pharmacy Improvements Made
1.1

The pharmacy does not have any current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support its internal processes.

We will have a SOP folder with all SOPs present. All staff will read the SOPs and sign to say they have read and understand them. This will be updated annually or if any new SOP/SOP needs updating accordingly.

4.3

The pharmacy cannot show that medicines requiring refrigeration have been consistently stored at the appropriate temperatures.

We have two fridges and will implement daily fridge temperature checking. We will train our staff on this. We will have a record stuck on both fridges where staff will record the temperature daily. If the temperature is not in the temperature range it should be, they will alert the superintendent.

4.4

The pharmacy's team members cannot show that they have been dealing with and appropriately acting upon the drug alerts issued by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency.

We will have a folder in place for drug recalls and alerts. We will train all staff to print off the alerts/recalls when they are emailed to us and we will store them in this folder. If it is a recall, we will check if we have stock and make a note on the recall sheet to say this has been actioned.
