Britannia Pharmacy (1031037) - Improvement action plan

Standard not met Reason Action being taken by the Pharmacy By when Notification By Pharmacy Improvements Made
1.7

The pharmacy does not always protect people’s personal information. People can potentially see this information when accessing the consultation room and when standing at the counter in the shop area. And team members sometimes use an NHS smartcard belonging to another team member.

The screen at the counter at the pharmacy has now been covered with educational posers preventing customers from seeing patient information. Further to this, the counter outside the consultation room where staff bag prescriptions will be moved next to the present pharmacy reception counter, thereby giving patients direct access to the consultation room without being able to view any patient identifiable information. Further to this, any area in which we identify where patient information can be seen will be screened off from sight by being hidden by professional educational posters or frosted class. Additionally, staff have been informed not to share NHS smartcards and to ensure they remove their cards when they leave their shift or are not physically present at the computer terminal.
