Jardines Pharmacy (1029079) - Improvement action plan

Standard not met Reason Action being taken by the Pharmacy By when Notification By Pharmacy Improvements Made
2.1

The pharmacy does not have enough suitably qualified and skilled staff available at all times to ensure the workload is managed safely and effectively.

After the inspector's first visit we moved a staff member from another Aylesbury branch to Bedgrove. Unfortunately they then went off sick and will not return until the end of January – this is the situation the inspectors walked into on the second visit.

Since then the store has been supported by a mixture of a locum dispenser (2 to 4 days per week) and staff from other stores. Over the Xmas period we have a student lined up to also help cover.
We are committed to cover the store in this fashion until the situation is resolved.

We have a vacancy for a full-time staff member on the counter. We have therefore advertised the position and are currently reviewing the CVs that we are receiving with a view to offering the role as soon as possible 10 working days from receipt of the finalised report Area Manager/Branch Manager
