Pharmacy context
This is a community pharmacy located next door to a GP surgery in the village of Ormiston, East Lothian. Its main activity is dispensing NHS prescriptions. And it supplies multi-compartment compliance packs to help people take their medicines at the right times. The pharmacy provides a medicines’ delivery service and team members offer advice on minor ailments and medicines’ use.
This was a routine inspection which focused on the core Standards relating to patient safety. Not all Standards were inspected on this occasion. The last inspection of the pharmacy was in May 2015.
