Pharmacy context

This community pharmacy is located next to a medical centre in the town of Halstead in Essex. It provides a variety of services including dispensing of NHS and private prescriptions, the sale of Pharmacy only (P) medicines, the New Medicines Services (NMS) and the Pharmacy First service under Patient Group Directions (PGDs). This was a reinspection following an inspection in May 2026 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 2.1, 4.4 and 5.1. Since the last inspection, the pharmacy has more team members available to help with the workload along with more regular pharmacist cover, has a process in place that allows team members to deal with safety alerts and recalls of medicines and medical devices. And it has appropriate anaphylaxis resources in place.

What do the inspection outcomes mean?

After an inspection each pharmacy receives one overall outcome. This will be either Standards met or Standards not all met

Met The pharmacy has met all the standards for registered pharmacies

What do the summary findings for each principle mean?

Excellent practice The pharmacy delivers an innovative service and benefits the whole community and performs well against the standards
Good practice The pharmacy delivers positive outcomes for patients and performs well against most of the standards
