Pharmacy context

This pharmacy adjacent to a Morrisons supermarket in Heckmondwike town centre. It dispenses NHS prescriptions and sells a range of over‐the‐counter medicines. Pharmacy team members provide other NHS healthcare services including the Pharmacy First Service, the New Medicine Service and the NHS Blood Pressure Service. And they provide some private services including travel vaccinations, seasonal flu and Covid-19 vaccinations. The pharmacy provides medicines to some people in multi-compartment compliance packs to help them take their medicines at the right time. And it delivers medicines to people’s homes when required. This was a focussed inspection of the pharmacy, focussing on the core Standards relating to patient safety. Not all the Standards were inspected on this occasion. The pharmacy was last inspected in June 2016.
