Pharmacy context
This is a pharmacy in the village of Appleton, on the outskirts of Warrington. It is situated in the same building as the local health centre next to a small parade of shops. The pharmacy mainly dispenses NHS and private prescriptions. It also provides NHS services such as covid and flu vaccinations, the new Medicines Service and the Pharmacy First service. The pharmacy provides private consultation services such as vaccinations and a weight management service. Some people receive medicines in multi-compartment compliance packs to help them take their medicines properly. And the pharmacy delivers medicines to people at home and living in care homes. This was a routine inspection of the pharmacy which focused on the core Standards relating to patient safety. Not all Standards were inspected on this occasion. The pharmacy was last inspected in January 2016.
