Pharmacy context

This pharmacy is in Castleford town centre and it operates two distinct services from the same registered premises. The first service is accessible to patients and includes dispensing NHS prescriptions and selling over-the-counter medicines. It provides other services including Pharmacy First, the hypertension case finding service and a Contraception Service. The second service involves dispensing medicines to five prisons and a secure hospital. And supplying some stock medicines to the prisons through a wholesale dealer’s license issued by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

This was a full routine inspection of the pharmacy. The pharmacy was last inspected in May 2016.
