Pharmacy context
This community pharmacy is located in the centre of Cottenham, near Cambridge. Most of its activity is dispensing NHS prescriptions for people who live in the local area. Some of these prescriptions are prepared at an off-site dispensing hub owned by the same company. The pharmacy also sells a range of medicines and gives advice to people over the counter. It provides seasonal flu vaccinations and Covid boosters. It offers the NHS Pharmacy First service, and hypertension case-finding service. It delivers medicines to some people's homes, based on need. And it supplies medicines in multi-compartment compliance packs to a small number of people who need this assistance to take their medicines at the right times. The pharmacy has just started a weight management service under a private patient group direction.
This was a routine focused inspection which looked at those Standards most related to patient safety. Not all Standards were inspected on this occasion. The pharmacy was last inspected in 2018.
