Pharmacy context

This is a community pharmacy in Newton Stewart, Dumfries and Galloway. It dispenses NHS prescriptions and sells a range of over-the-counter medicines. It provides multi-compartment compliance packs for people who need help taking their medicines at the right time. And delivers to people’s homes if necessary. The pharmacy provides NHS services including stop smoking and Pharmacy First. And the pharmacists are prescribers and provide medicines for common conditions under Pharmacy First Plus service. The pharmacist also provides private services including weight management and an ear wax micro-suction service. This was a routine inspection of the pharmacy. The inspection focused on the core Standards relating to patient safety. Not all the Standards were inspected on this occasion. The pharmacy was last inspected in April 2016.
