Pharmacy context
This pharmacy is located within New Cross Hospital which is part of The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust. New Cross Hospital is a large acute and community hospital with more than 850 beds. The activity of the hospital, including the pharmacy, is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The pharmacy does not currently provide any regular activities or services that require GPhC registration. It remains registered to allow dispensing of ad-hoc prescriptions when medication is not readily available at the hospital’s out-patient pharmacies or local community pharmacies, and to support emergency preparedness planning.
This was a routine inspection of the pharmacy which focused on the core Standards relating to patient safety. Not all the Standards were inspected on this occasion. The pharmacy was last inspected in July 2018.
