Pharmacy context
This community pharmacy is located in a residential area in Stevenage. The pharmacy dispenses NHS and private prescriptions. And it sells medicines over the counter. It provides the NHS Pharmacy First and Contraception service. And it offers a prescription delivery service to some people in the local area.
This was a reinspection following an inspection in July 2025 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 1.1 and 1.2. This reinspection focused on those standards which had previously not been met. Since the last inspection, the pharmacy has now got a full set of standard operating procedures (SOPs) which all team members have read and signed. And it has started recording and reviewing near misses so that it can take appropriate actions to help improve the quality of its service. The pharmacy has also made some further improvements. For example, it has reduced the clutter in the pharmacy to help project a more professional appearance. And the pharmacy now has a more stable team which means it is able to start providing a wider range of services. Team members now highlight higher-risk medicines so that people receiving these medicines are provided with relevant safety information. And the pharmacy has implemented a more robust date-checking process to help ensure that medicines it supplies are suitable for use.
