Pharmacy context
This community pharmacy is located just outside the village centre. Its main activity is dispensing NHS prescriptions, some of which it delivers to people's homes. It also sells medicines over the counter and offers the NHS Pharmacy First service, Hypertension case-finding service, and contraceptive service. It provides seasonal flu and Covid 19 vaccinations and supplies medicines in multi-compartment compliance packs to some people who need this support to help them take their medicines at the right time. It also supplies medicines to some people receiving substance misuse treatment.
This was a reinspection following an inspection in June 2025 where the pharmacy did not meet Standard 4.3. The reinspection focused on the Standard which had previously not been met. The pharmacy was now storing medicines that required cold storage appropriately with suitable records in place.
Inspection summary findings
Principle 4. Services, including medicines management
Medicines that require cold storage are now being stored appropriately in two fridges that have working thermometers that record current temperature and maximum and minimum temperature. Records showed that the fridges were in working order and stored medicines within the required range of 2 and 8 degrees Celsius.
