Pharmacy context
The pharmacy is co-located with a GP practice in the rural village of Horsford in Norfolk. The pharmacy is owned independently however the medical practice have a financial interest in a different pharmacy in Drayton. The pharmacy therefore focusses primarily on the core dispensing service as well as supervised methadone for 2-3 patients and occasional sexual health service provision (Contraception against the C-Card, Emergency Hormonal Contraception and Chlamydia Treatment). The pharmacist is also accredited to perform MUR and NMS consultations but these rarely occur due to time constraints. The pharmacy were about to start a flu vaccination service. As the GP practice have move many of their services to Drayton there is an increasing need for services locally. The pharmacy also take part in a funded emergency supply scheme, assemble a number of MDS trays and provide informal blood pressure monitoring.
