North East Pharmacy (9011865)

Inspection outcome: Standards met

Last inspection: 25/02/2025

Since January 2025 our inspection reports are more concise and accessible - find out more about the changes

Pharmacy context

The pharmacy is on the outskirts of the city centre of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. It has a contract to provide NHS dispensing services at a distance. A very low volume of NHS services was provided in-person, such as the NHS Pharmacy First scheme. The pharmacy supplies medicines in multi-compartment compliance packs to some people to help them take their medicines at the right time.

This was a reinspection following an inspection in October 2024, where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 1.7, 2.2 and 3.3. This reinspection focused on those Standards which had previously not been met. Following the last inspection, the pharmacy had reviewed their procedures relating to information governance and team members had received training relating to this. Confidential waste was now being disposed of appropriately. Team members had also been enrolled on training courses relevant to their roles and had made varying levels of progress with these. And all the working areas of the pharmacy appeared appropriately clean for the services being delivered.
