Pharmacy context

This is a community pharmacy on the high street in North Berwick, East Lothian. Its main activity is dispensing NHS prescriptions. And it supplies medicines in multi-compartment compliance packs to help people take their medicines at the right times. There are two pharmacists who are independent prescribers and provide some private services including a weight management service. The pharmacy provides a delivery service and team members offer advice on minor ailments and medicines’ use.

This was an inspection that focused on the core Standards relating to patient safety. Not all standards were inspected on this occasion. The last inspection of the pharmacy was in July 2015.
