Pharmacy context
This is a community pharmacy on the main street in Morningside, Edinburgh. Its main activity is dispensing NHS prescriptions. And it provides medicines in multi-compartment compliance packs to help people take their medicines at the right times. The pharmacist is an independent prescriber and provides medicines for common clinical conditions under the NHS Pharmacy First Plus service. And they offer several private services including ear wax removal and a travel clinic.
This was an inspection that focused on the core Standards relating to patient safety. Not all standards were inspected on this occasion. The last inspection of the pharmacy was in May 2015.
