Pharmacy context

The pharmacy is located in a residential village between Leigh and Tyldesley. The premises is in the local shopping parade which includes a satellite GP practice. NHS dispensing is the main activity, and it also provides a number of other NHS services including Pharmacy First, the New Medicine Service (NMS), hypertension service and the seasonal flu vaccination services. 
This was a routine inspection of the pharmacy which focused on the core Standards relating to patient safety. Not all the Standards were inspected on this occasion. The pharmacy was last inspected in November 2017.

Met The pharmacy has met all the standards for registered pharmacies
Not all met The pharmacy has not met one or more of the standards for registered pharmacies

What do the summary findings for each principle mean?

The standards for registered pharmacies are made up of five principles. The pharmacy will also receive one of four possible findings for each of these principles. These are:

Excellent practice The pharmacy delivers an innovative service and benefits the whole community and performs well against the standards
Good practice The pharmacy delivers positive outcomes for patients and performs well against most of the standards
