Pharmacy context

This pharmacy is in a residential area in Gateshead. It mainly dispenses NHS prescriptions and sells over-the-counter medicines. The pharmacy provides NHS services such as Pharmacy First, blood pressure checks and the New Medicines service. It supplies medicines in multi-compartment compliance packs to some people to help them remember to take their medicines. And it provides a seasonal flu and COVID vaccination service. The pharmacy delivers some medicines to people’s homes.

This was a routine inspection of the pharmacy which focused on the core Standards relating to patient safety. Not all the Standards were inspected on this occasion. The pharmacy was last inspected in January 2016.
