Last inspection: 13/07/2026

Since January 2025 our inspection reports are more concise and accessible - find out more about the changes

Pharmacy context

This is a community pharmacy located on a high street in a primarily residential area of Edinburgh. It dispenses NHS prescriptions and sells a range of over‐the‐counter medicines. The pharmacy also provides medicines to some people in multi‐compartment compliance packs to help them take their medicines properly. Pharmacy team members provide other healthcare services including the NHS Pharmacy First Service. This was a reinspection following an inspection in February 2026 where the pharmacy did not meet Standard 4.3. This reinspection focused on those Standards which had previously not been met. Since the last inspection, the pharmacy follows a robust process to check expiry dates for its stock medicines and has removed short-dated and out-of-date medicines from its shelves. The pharmacy has also acted on an areas for improvement identified during the last inspection. The pharmacy now provides patient information leaflets to all multi-compartment compliance pack patients and additional team members are trained to dispense these packs, providing contingency during unplanned absences.
