Pharmacy context

This community pharmacy is located in a residential area of Dunstable in a parade of shops. It sells medicines over the counter. And it dispenses NHS and private prescriptions. The pharmacy provides some additional NHS services such as flu vaccinations and Pharmacy First. And it offers a prescription delivery service to people who cannot get to the pharmacy.

This was a reinspection following an inspection in December 2025 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 1.1, 3.2 and 4.3. This reinspection focused on those standards which had previously not been met. Since the last inspection, the pharmacy has implemented a set of standard operating procedures (SOPs) covering the activities of the pharmacy. The pharmacy has installed a blind on its consultation room door to ensure privacy. And it now has a process for date-checking medicines to ensure short-dated stock is highlighted and expired medicines are removed from the shelves.
