Pharmacy context

This is a community pharmacy near a GP surgery in largely residential area on the outskirts of Sittingbourne. It provides NHS services such as the New Medicine Service, the Pharmacy First service and Hypertension Case Finding service. It provides a flu, COVID and travel vaccinations using patient group directions. And it provides a face-to-face weight management service using patient group directions. It supplies medicines in multi-compartment compliance packs to people who need this support. And it provides a face-to-face private prescribing service for various conditions such as erectile dysfunction, urinary tract infections and bacterial vaginosis. It provides supervised administration of certain medicines. And it delivers medicines to some people’s homes.

This was an inspection of the pharmacy which focused on the core Standards relating to patient safety. Not all the Standards were inspected on this occasion. The pharmacy was last inspected in March 2016.
