Since January 2025 our inspection reports are more concise and accessible - find out more about the changes
Pharmacy context
This community pharmacy is located in a parade of shops in a residential area. Most people who use the pharmacy are from the local area and a home delivery service is available. The pharmacy dispenses NHS prescriptions, and it sells a range of over-the-counter medicines. It provides seasonal COVID-19, and flu vaccination services and some other NHS funded services including the Pharmacy First Service. The pharmacy supplies a large number of medicines in multi-compartment compliance aid packs to help people take their medicines at the right time.
This was a desktop inspection following an inspection earlier in July 2025 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 2.4 and 4.2. This reinspection focused on those Standards which had previously not been met. The pharmacy has introduced weekly team meetings, and more regular one-to-one meetings with team members. It has also made sure that its whistleblowing policy is displayed so team members are aware of it. The pharmacy has improved its recording of near miss errors, and it reviews the records regularly and shares any learning points within the team. The management of the compliance aid pack service has been reviewed to improve the procedure for dealing with changes to medication and labelling, including better recording of interventions.
