Pharmacy context

This 100 hour pharmacy is located on the main street in the seaside town of Felixstowe in Suffolk and serves a predominantly elderly population and a number of local care homes.

In addition to traditional dispensing services, the pharmacy provides around 10 Medicines Use Review (MUR) each week and occasional New Medicine Service (NMS) consultations.

Methadone and buprenorphine are supplied to one supervised and three collecting patients.

The pharmacy had previously provided a range of sexual health services but it was reported that these had been discontinued due to the cost of having the required DBS checks.

Medicines are assembled in to Monitored Dosage System (MDS) trays for around 50 monthly, one fortnightly and three weekly patients.

Blood pressure checks were carried out by the pharmacist and two members of staff.

There is a daily delivery service.
