Pharmacy context
The pharmacy is in the same complex as the community hospital, a dental surgery and dispensing doctor’s surgery. The complex is away from the pedestrianised shopping area in Bicester and the outlet village. It dispenses NHS and private prescriptions, sells medicines over the counter and gives health advice. The pharmacy services on offer include substance misuse, delivery, Pharmacy First, NHS 111, blood pressure case-finding, new medicine service and flu vaccinations for people aged 65+ years.
This was a reinspection following an inspection in February 2025 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 1.1, 1.2, 1.6, 1.7, 1.8, 2.2 and 4.2. The pharmacy's written procedures are now more accessible for the team to refer to and there are systems in place for them to learn from their mistakes. The team members have undertaken training in protecting people's private information and they understand how they can safeguard the welfare of vulnerable people.
The records which the pharmacy is required to keep are not all complete and accurate. The pharmacy has not yet shown which accredited training one of the support staff has been enrolled on.
This reinspection focused on those standards which had previously not been met.

What does 'pharmacy has not met all standards' mean?
When a pharmacy has not met all standards, they are required to complete an improvement action plan, which you can find via a link at the top left of this page. We monitor progress to check the improvements are made and inspect again after six months to make sure the pharmacy is maintaining these improvements. A new report will then be published.
