Inspection outcome: Standards met
Last inspection: 18/06/2025
Since January 2025 our inspection reports are more concise and accessible - find out more about the changes
Pharmacy context
This community pharmacy is located in a residential area on the edge of the town. Most people who use the pharmacy are from the local area and a home delivery service is available. The pharmacy dispenses NHS prescriptions, and it sells a range of over-the-counter medicines. It provides seasonal flu vaccination services, and some other NHS funded services including the Pharmacy First Service. The pharmacy supplies a number of medicines in multi-compartment compliance aid packs to help people take their medicines at the right time.
This was a reinspection following an inspection in January 2025 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.6, 1.7, 2.2, 4.2 and 4.3. This reinspection focused on those Standards which had previously not been met. The pharmacy had reviewed its standard operating procedures, and these had been read by team members. Unqualified team members had been enrolled onto accredited training courses and were clear about their roles and responsibilities. Near miss errors were recorded and discussed within the team. The pharmacy had reviewed its procedures for the compliance aid packs and supervised consumption services. Medicines were stored appropriately and record keeping was generally in order.
