Deane Pharmacy (1091193)

Inspection outcome: Standards met

Last inspection: 12/03/2025

Since January 2025 our inspection reports are more concise and accessible - find out more about the changes

Pharmacy context

This pharmacy is located next door to a medical centre on the edge of the town and is open extended hours. The pharmacy dispenses NHS prescriptions and supplies some people with medicines in multi‐ compartment compliance packs to help them manage their medicines. It also provides the NHS Pharmacy First service, seasonal flu vaccinations and a blood pressure check service.

This was a reinspection following an inspection in November 2024 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 4.2. This reinspection focused on those Standards which had previously not been met. Following the last inspection, the team had reviewed the written procedures (SOPs) that were related to the dispensing of medcines into multi-compartment compliance packs. Team members now referred to the prescriptions when picking medicine stock and assembling the packs to help make sure the process was completed safely. Packs were also labelled with the dates that they had been prepared so that there was a clear record of this.
