Pharmacy context

This community pharmacy is situated close to the centre of Tamworth. The pharmacy dispenses NHS prescriptions, private prescriptions and sells over-the-counter medicines. It also provides a range of services including seasonal flu vaccinations, and the NHS Pharmacy First service. The pharmacy supplies medicines in multi-compartment compliance packs to some people to help them take their medicines at the right time. This was a desktop inspection following an inspection in May 2026 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 1.1 and 4.3. This reinspection focused on the Standards which had previously not been met. The pharmacy team have received training on the company’s current standard operating procedures to ensure they are working in accordance with the superintendent pharmacist’s instructions. The pharmacy has also reviewed its arrangements for stock handling, including how controlled drugs are managed.
