Pharmacy context
This community pharmacy is situated on a main road leading out of Leicester city centre. Its main activity is dispensing NHS prescriptions. It also sells medicines over the counter and offers a range of services including the NHS Pharmacy First service. The pharmacy supplies medicines to people receiving substance misuse treatment. It also supplies medicines in multi‐compartment compliance packs to people who need this support to help them take their medicines at the right time. This was a reinspection following an inspection in January 2026 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 1.1, 1.2, 4.2, 4.3, 5.1. The pharmacy now has up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The pharmacy team understand them and follow them. They are able to show that they are following the SOP for dispensing mistakes and were able to explain how they use mistakes to identify improvements in the way the pharmacy is working. But because they are not recording their monthly reviews they may be missing some opportunities to spot patterns or trends. The pharmacist is aware of and complies with current guidance on the advice and supply of sodium valproate. Medicines are now stored safely and access to them is managed securely. Equipment for medicines that require secure storage is now fit for purpose.
