Pharmacy context

The pharmacy is located on a retail park near Crewe town centre. It is open Monday to Friday 8am-midnight, Saturday 8am-10pm and Sundays 11am-5pm. The pharmacy dispenses in the region of 4500 NHS prescription items per month and approximately 2 private prescriptions per month.

The pharmacy provides a repeat prescription collection and delivery service and Monitored Dosage System (MDS) trays to approximately 40 community patients.

Additional services offered include Medicines Use Reviews (MUR), the New Medicines Scheme (NMS) and the Emergency Hormonal Contraceptive (EHC) service via PGD.

The minor ailments scheme and palliative care services are also available. In addition to this, a travel clinic service is also available.

The pharmacy currently has 7 substance misuse service users and the needle exchange scheme is also offered.

After an inspection each pharmacy receives one overall outcome. This will be either Standards met or Standards not all met

Met The pharmacy has met all the standards for registered pharmacies
Not all met The pharmacy has not met one or more of the standards for registered pharmacies

What do the summary findings for each principle mean?

The standards for registered pharmacies are made up of five principles. The pharmacy will also receive one of four possible findings for each of these principles. These are:
