Pharmacy context
Setting
Located within a large health centre, the pharmacy mainly provided dispensing services to patients following their surgery appointments. There were a significant number of children in the area and a high proportion of immigrants.
Up until 19 months ago the pharmacy had been owned by a consortium (Lloyds and Boots) and the long-serving superintendent of 33 years had been responsible for developing and implementing the local governance arrangements. Boots had recently taken over the ownership and this had seen a significant change with the introduction of Boots corporate processes. The long-serving pharmacist had recently retired on 31/5/2016 and was providing on-going support until a new manager started in the next few weeks.
The opening hours were Monday to Friday: 08:45am to 13:00pm and 14:00pm to 17:45pm.

What do the inspection outcomes mean?
After an inspection each pharmacy receives one overall outcome. This will be either Standards met or Standards not all met
| The pharmacy has met all the standards for registered pharmacies | |

What do the summary findings for each principle mean?
The standards for registered pharmacies are made up of five principles. The pharmacy will also receive one of four possible findings for each of these principles. These are:

| The pharmacy delivers positive outcomes for patients and performs well against most of the standards | |
| The pharmacy meets all the standards | |
