This community pharmacy is situated in the centre of Kenilworth, Warwickshire. It sells a range of over-the-counter medicines and dispenses prescriptions. It provides the New Medicine Service (NMS), Hypertension Case Finding Service and it administers seasonal flu vaccinations.
Inspection summary findings
Principle 1. Governance
Overall, the pharmacy has safe and effective working practices. It identifies and manages the risks associated with its services well. And it keeps the records it needs to by law, to show that medicines are supplied safely and legally. Team members routinely record and review their mistakes so that they can learn and improve from these events. The pharmacy keeps people’s private information securely and its team members understand how they can help and protect vulnerable people.
Principle 2. Staff
The pharmacy has enough, trained team members to manage its current workload and its team members are well-supported to help keep their skills and knowledge up to date. Team members work well together, and they can raise concerns or make suggestions to help improve the pharmacy’s services.
Principle 3. Premises
The pharmacy’s premises are clean, tidy, and adequately maintained. And people visiting the pharmacy can have a conversation with a team member in private.
Principle 4. Services, including medicines management
The pharmacy manages its services well to ensure people get appropriate care and support to manage their medicines safely. And people with different needs can access its services. The pharmacy gets its medicines from licensed wholesalers and team members take the right action in response to safety alerts and recalls so that people get medicines and medical devices that are fit for purpose.

The pharmacy has the equipment and facilities it needs to provide its services safely. And its team members use the equipment and facilities in a way that protects people’s privacy and dignity.
