Last inspection: 24/10/2025

Pharmacy context

The pharmacy is in Marazion, Cornwall. It dispenses NHS and private prescriptions and provides advice to people about long- and short-term conditions. The pharmacy offers a range of NHS services including flu and COVID-19 vaccinations, the NHS Pharmacy First service, the NHS New Medicines service and NHS Emergency Contraception service. It also provides locally commissioned Walk-in Consultation and Emergency Supply services. The pharmacy dispenses medicines and provides support to people who use drugs. It also offers a delivery service.

This was a desktop reinspection following an inspection in February 2025 where the pharmacy did not meet Standard 1.6. This reinspection focused on the Standard which had previously not been met. At the previous inspection, the pharmacy did not maintain a running balance for all of the controlled drugs it held. And it did not always investigate discrepancies that were identified. This did not meet best practise guidance and meant that a full audit trail was not available for some controlled drugs. The pharmacy had since implemented regular balance checks and had investigated all discrepancies.
