Pharmacy context

The pharmacy is in a 24-hour Asda supermarket and is open 08.00 to 23.00 Monday, 07.00 to 23.00 Tuesday to Friday, 07.00 to 22.00 Saturday and 10.00 to 16.00 Sunday. The pharmacy has a 100-hour NHS dispensing contract.

The team currently dispense approximately 4500 NHS prescription items and 20 private prescriptions per month and offer services including flu vaccinations via NHS and private patient group direction (PGD), emergency contraception, erectile dysfunction treatment, hair loss prevention, antimalarials (Malarone), meningitis travel vaccinations and period delay via private PGD, supervised consumption to approximately 10 current clients, medicines use reviews (MUR), the NHS New Medicines Service (NMS), and monitored dosage systems (MDS) to 12 domiciliary clients.
Services are provided to a varied patient population.
