Pharmacy context
This pharmacy is situated in a parade of shops on a busy road. The pharmacy provides NHS services such as dispensing prescriptions, flu and COVID vaccinations, smoking cessation service, the Pharmacy First service, the New Medicine Service (NMS), the Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring Service (ABPM) and the contraception service (PCS). It supplies medicines in multi-compartment compliance packs to people who need this support to manage their medicines at home and offers a delivery service. The pharmacy also runs a travel clinic, weight loss clinic and provides vitamin B12 injections using patient group directions (PGDs).
This was a routine inspection of the pharmacy which focused on the core Standards relating to patient safety. Not all the Standards were inspected on this occasion. The pharmacy was last inspected in December 2015 when it was under different ownership. The pharmacy changed owners in October 2023, and this was the first inspection under the new ownership.
