Pharmacy context
This community pharmacy is situated in Knott End, on the Wyre cost in Lancashire. The pharmacy dispenses NHS prescriptions, private prescriptions and sells over-the-counter medicines. It also provides a range of services including the NHS Pharmacy First service. The pharmacy has recently re-opened under new management following a long period of closure where no pharmacy services had been provided. This was a full reinspection following an inspection in March 2025 where the pharmacy did not meet Standards 1.7, 2.1, 2.2, 3.1, 3.3 and 3.5. Under the new ownership, the pharmacy had implemented new information governance procedures and introduced a method for the destruction of confidential waste. New members of the pharmacy team were recruited to enable pharmacy services to be provided and are undergoing the necessary training for their roles. Steps had been taken to address waste and rodent concerns and correct any previously outstanding maintenance concerns. There were processes in place to raise any maintenance concerns to the company’s head office.
