| Standard not met | Reason | Action being taken by the Pharmacy | By when | Notification By Pharmacy Improvements Made |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1.7 | The pharmacy does not have a clear procedure for handling confidential waste. There is no system in place to ensure that sensitive patient information is disposed of securely. This increases the risk that confidential data could be accessed by unauthorised individuals. |
The pharmacy will keep a confidential waste shredder onsite to dispose of confidential waste. All confidential waste will be kept in a separate (white) confidential waste bag. We are also looking to arrange a contract with a local regulated confidential waste contractor. |

| 4.4 | The pharmacy does not receive drug alerts and has no system in place to identify or act on drug recalls or safety notifications. Team members are unable to provide any records of previous actions taken in response to such alerts. As a result, the pharmacy cannot demonstrate that it has an effective process for managing urgent drug recalls and safety issues. |
The pharmacy has registered to the Central Alerting System (CAS). The shared pharmacy NHS email will directly receive all Alerts for the staff to access on a daily basis. |
