The pharmacy does not continually monitor its fridges to provide assurance that medicines are kept at the right temperature and are suitable to supply. And it cannot show how it receives and acts on drug alerts and recalls to ensure that medicines are fit for purpose.

Medicines were moved to alternate fridge for storage on day of inspection. Action plan for any medicines that have been stored out with to be monitored for reduced expiration dates due to missing fridge logs. New LEC full height fridge was ordered. Staff training completed by area manager on how to record minimum and maximum temperatures, how to create an action plan of medicines that have been stored out with required range and how to reset fridge. Fridge temperatures to be monitored by pharmacist manager and area manager daily and sent weekly via PDF to area manager. Daily recording of temperatures has been captured since inspection and temperatures are within range.
