We will look at risks and hazards posed with staff handling the requests for online sale of medicines. The staff managing the service will be fully involved to identify risks and knowledge gaps and trained to know when and who to refer to if online requests are questionable. e.g. repeat use of medicines that are liable to abuse and/or pose health risks. Medicines to be aware of include those with a higher risk of serious harm if abused. All team members involved in processing online medicine sales will complete accredited distance-selling pharmacy and safeguarding training. Training records, competency assessments and signed declarations will be maintained in a staff training file. Refresher training will be scheduled annually and whenever SOPs are updated. No member of staff will participate in online medicine sales unless training and competency assessment have been completed. |

Pharmacy website will name responsible Pharmacist & contact details for further information. This will allow two-way communication with a Professional when needed by customers unsure of product choice or requirements. Decisions to supply or refuse and offer advice only, will be documented. |
