Kings Pharmacy (1040326) - Improvement action plan

The pharmacy does not keep complete records of its pharmaceutical fridge temperatures. This means it cannot show medicines requiring cold storage are always stored at the correct temperatures. And it does not keep records of expiry-date checks which increases the chances of out-of-date medicine being stored with dispensing stock.

A team member to be accountable for recording fridge temperatures and checks to be completed weekly by the pharmacist to ensure compliance. Expiry date checks to be completed every 3 months.

Pharmacy team members have not completed, or been enrolled on, accredited training relevant to their roles. This means they are completing tasks that they are not qualified for or been appropriately trained for.

All team members to be enrolled onto an accredited support staff course for dispensing assistants.
