| 4.2 | The pharmacy does not always follow its own risk assessment for its online sales. As part of the risk assessment, the pharmacy has identified that some medicines require an email to the person to check if the medicine is appropriate. But the pharmacy does not yet send these emails out. So, the pharmacy is less able to show that a medicine was suitable for a person if there was a query. |
- We are sending out questionnaires to patients using the Amazon messaging service for medicines identified as requiring additional confirmation of suitability. We will continue to review this process and refine it where necessary to ensure patient safety and full compliance with our risk assessment. |

| 4.2 | The pharmacy does not check people's identification before making a supply of a pharmacy-only medicine online. And it does not have a system currently in place to do so, apart from relying on the information from the third-party online service. This means that staff cannot check that a person ordering pharmacy-only medicines online is who they claim to be. |
- When sending out questionnaires, we request the patient’s date of birth. This information is then cross-checked using the Sonar Informatics system and the NHS Spine to confirm the patient’s identity against NHS records. |
