1.6

The pharmacy does not keep adequate records of high-risk medicines that are returned by people for destruction. This means the pharmacy does not have an accurate record to refer to if there was a query.

All the high risk medicines that have been returned by people for destruction to be destroyed and records of destruction to be retained.

3.1

Several areas of the pharmacy premises are significantly untidy and cluttered, which presents a risk in how the pharmacy delivers its services safely.

All areas of the pharmacy to be cleaned and tidied. A new counter unit to be fitted. Work has begun to provide more room on the first floor of premises. New units have been purchased for this room. The cleaning rota to be updated.

4.3

The pharmacy does not correctly and securely store some high-risk medicines that are awaiting destruction. This increases the risk of unauthorised access to these medicines. And the pharmacy does not routinely check and record the temperature ranges of each of it's fridge. So there is a risk that it may not identify when medicines that require cold storage are being stored at incorrect temperatures.

Additional storage cabinet to be ordered and installed.
The four fridge temperatures to be checked routinely every day. Each fridge sounds an alarm if the temperature goes out of range. A report can be obtained by inserting an SD card into the control panel of the fridge.
The temperatures shall be recorded on at least once a day every day the pharmacy is open and to report any interruptions of the cold chain.
